This tour is hardcore and packed with adrenaline. Ride with great guides and explore not only El Portezuelo, but the whole Sierra Ilamatepeque on 2008 250 Bayou Kawasaki ATV´s. This tour is full of adventure and the routes are safely designed. Helmets included. Jeans, spare cloth and tough shoes are strongly recommended. Don’t forget your cameras as the pictures and view are spectacular.

HIGH ROPES
Portezuelo High Ropes Course consist of sophisticated elements that have been designed with safety as paramount. Our High Ropes Course elements use complex belay systems, relying on ropes, harnesses, friction devices, carabiners and helmets. Push yourself and overcome your personal limits. This course is built 10 meters above the ground and it is safely designed under international safety standards. You will have 9 different obstacles to overcome, each of them different by nature. You will feel adrenaline pumping through your veins all along as you overcome these obstacles. It is an excellent way to overcome and take control of your deepest fears. This course was originally designed for team building events but has turned out to be a great tourist alternative, so don´t hesitate, Try it!

NATURE HIKES & VOLCANO TREKS
With such an exquisite terrain, hiking or trekking at El Portezuelo Adventure Park is one of the most popular activities. There are many natural attractions nearby and destinations such as geysers, the cloud forest or the crater lakes. These natural attractions offer hikers a diversity of trails that will suite all levels. Trails are rustic, private and natural. You can choose from different options, but short hikes of 1 to 1.5 hrs. are available to nearby destinations. Other longer hikes like our volcano trek to the can last up to 8 hours are recommended for people with good physical condition.
We also offer treks directly to the Izalco, Santa Ana and Cerro Verde volcanoes. Our guide will take you directly to the “Parque de Volcanes” and a local guide along with a police escort will accompany you to the crater of the volcanoes. Although we cannot guarantee you will be permitted to go all the way up to the craters (the volcanoes are active and sometimes warnings are issued that do not permit hikers to get up close) we can usually guarantee a good trek and climb. The views are quite beautiful and the energy one feels from these three active volcanoes is astonishing. This trek is recommended for more serious hikers. Expect to hike no less than four hours.

HORSE BACK RIDES
This one day tour is available at El Portezuelo Adventure Park. Horses have been present here for many generations now. Don Carlos Alfaro who oversees the coffe farm, and his lifetime passion for Peruvian horses are what allows us to offer this top notch tour. There are 17 horses all together at Portezuelo Park, but we only offer to take a maximum of 6 riders at a time to be able to monitor the more un-experienced riders closer. These horses have been doing the horseback riding tours for around four years now, so they are very familiar with the trails and feel comfortable with tourists riding them.
Once at the park, a decision as to where to ride can be taken. We offer three main routes; the Coffee Route, the Laguna Verde Route, and the Cerro Cuyanunsul Route, all very beautiful and scenic. Expect to ride anywhere from 1.5 -2 hours maximum.

MOUNTAIN BIKES
This one day tour is available at El Portezuelo Adventure Park where we offer an exquisite terrain for mountain biking. We offer 4 “Specialized” front suspension bikes, 1 “Schwine” front suspension, and 2 2007 Giant Rincon front suspension for our tours. You are invited to bring yours if you have one.
Our most popular tour starts at 1900 msnm at the top of Cerro Cuyanunsul and takes you on a downhill of about 23 kms all the way into Juayua, the colonial town at 900 msnm. The peak is reached on horse where the bikes and gear will be waiting for you. At this point, our guide will provide helmets and explain the route to take. He will carry all emergency tools needed to fix any problems or flats during the tour. We provide water in our tours but riders are responsible to carry their own water, along with any other personal belongings. We encourage riders to bring their cameras and backpacks along as the views are breathtaking.
Mountain bike tours usually last anywhere from 3-5 hrs from the moment you get on the horse at EPAP until you transfer back from Juayua.

PARAGLIDING
If your are a experienced pilot, there are some unique flying sites in El Salvador. Our knowledge on local weather and flying sites allows us to guide you through El Salvador´s outstanding scenery to get the most out of your time and flights.
Our destinations in La Libertad include Tamanique and Bahia Dorada. These sites like South and Southwest winds. Other fying sites near San Salvador include Los Patos which is excellent for north winds. San Vicente is an excellent option for east winds. Coatepeque Lake is only 30 minutes from San Salvador and is one of the best spots for SW, South, or SE winds. And yet other good sites include Portezuelo Park and La Palma, but tend to be a bit too far of a drive if spending the night is not in your plans.
For one day tours to any destination, the prices are the following:

Prices include local pickup, private vehicle and driver with radio assistance, general briefing (weather, flying conditions, flying sites, safety remarks), fuel, unlimited flights and retrieves from landing zones, and all taxes.
A flying or XC guide can help the group maximize airtime and enjoyment. The flights will be planned and flown as a group. The guide will make sure the conditions are suitable for the groups skill level, so that everyone enjoys their flights in a safe and rewarding manner. The driver will organize the retrieve and have permanent radio contact with the group.
