CLOUD FOREST HIKE

Portezuelo’s Cloud Forest lets you enter the hights of Cerro Cuyanunzul or as noted on CNR maps, Montaña Magaña which sits vigilantly above Portezuelo Park. As you enter the mountain forest you will rapidly be wrapped amidst a cool misty cloud. Naturally air conditioned, the Cloud Forest always feels fresh and exuberant. Its vegetation is usually made up of wild orquids, and evergreen trees; typical of high altitude forests. You may see deer, snakes, blue morpho butterflies and other little creatures that still inhabit our rapidly dimishing forests. Hunting is strictly prohibited and we work hard at preserving this little peace of cool heaven on earth.
