Paddling from the The Surf and Adventure Club along the jagged cliffs offers great views. It is the perfect way to see the impressive Salvadorean pacific coast dotted with astonishing beach villas that sit on the tall cliffs. Perhaps checking out the surfers up close, snorkeling, or fishing off the kayaks is more your style. The experience lasts anywhere between 2 and 4 hours. The perfect season for kayaking is in the from November through March, when the southwest swells are soft and the tide level is extremely low. Kayaking in any other month has to be done with caution and we strongly recommend a local guide.

Akwamar Sunzal Adventure Club is located very close to all of the breaks in La Libertad Region. Our closest break, El Sunzal, is only 2 minutes away. Mizata, the farthest break, is only 35 minutes away. Our staff is made up of local surfers, and we specialize on all surf issues and services. The Surf and Adventure Club also offers surf taxis to any nearby break from Punta Roca to K-59 for $10/person, This is only a drop off/pick up service. Surf Instruction for those interested in learning the ways of the waves is also an option. We recommend at least a 2 hour lesson so that you have a fuller experience. Theory alone usually takes up the first hour.

Our surf instruction service takes place in Playa El Zonte about 20 min. away from Akwamar.
$55.00 for 2 hr. lesson per person.
Prices include transfers to Zonte and back to Akwamar, and board rental.
COASTAL FISHING TOUR
This option is designed for guests who want more action and do not really plan on staying the whole day out there. We depart from Los Cobanos around 7:30 am on a traditional fishing boat called "Tiburoneras". We usually come back after lunch, between 1-2pm. We work with local fisherman “ Chepe” which we refer to as "el maestro" due to his lifetime local fisherman knowledge. Expect to come across Tuna schools and troll for Makarela, Red Snapper, Wahu, Rooster Fish and Jacks.
MAHI MAHI TOUR
This option is designed for guests who love fishing for Mahi. This is a deep sea fishing tour which lasts all day, sometimes 30 miles out at sea. With luck, we can hit some sail fish and marlin on a catch and release policy. All mahi we keep. We depart from Los Cobanos around 7 am and usually return back around 4 or 5 if the fishing is good. PARAGLIDING TANDEM TOURS AND PARAGLIDING FOR PILOTS
If your are an experienced pilot, you will find unique flying sites in El Salvador. Our knowledge on local weather and flying sites allows us to guide you through El Salvador´s outstanding scenery to get the most out of your time and flights.
Our destinations in La Libertad include Tamanique and Bahia Dorada. These sites like South and Southwest winds.
Paragliding for experienced pilots: $75.00 per day - visit two sites
Paragliding Lessons - $30.00 per hour pp
Tandem Tours - $75.00 pp

Portezuelo Park offers different adventure options where you can get close to nature. Activities within El Portezuelo or nearby areas include, mountain biking, horseback riding, trekking/hiking, high-rope adventure circuit, canopy tour, and colonial town tour. Portezuelo Park, our provocative destination is located about 90 minutes away from the Surf Club. We strongly recommend enjoying a morning surf session and departing no later then 8:30 am to fully enjoy the day. Forget about surfing in the afternoon, our guest usually return around dinner time. Portezuelo Park is a great option to experience the essence of Salvadorean terra culture and local traditions.
